American Red Cross
The American Red Cross (chartered as the American National Red Cross) is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and education inside the United States, as part of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The American Red Cross is the only congressionally mandated organization to provide aid to victims of disaster and is responsible for fulfilling the mandates of the Geneva Convention within the United States. The site is a tremendous website providing massive amounts of information for individuals seeking emergency assistance and disaster relief.

DisasterHelp
This Web site is part of the President's Disaster Management Egov Initiative - a larger initiative aimed at greatly enhancing Disaster Management on an interagency and intergovernmental basis. The Disaster Management initiative will use cutting-edge information technology to improve the delivery of disaster assistance information and services by creating a single Internet-based portal to serve the public’s requirement for assistance, and the government’s requirement to provide disaster information and services. The public side of the portal will be a single location where the public and private businesses can easily access disaster information and services provided by government agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Disaster Resource Guide
The Disaster Resource Guide has announced the release of its 10th annual print edition and the 100th weekly Continuity e-Guide. Both guides are available without charge to businesses and government agencies worldwide. The Disaster Resource Guide is a source for information, articles, products and services for business continuity, disaster mitigation, recovery and emergency management. Both guides can be requested at www.disaster-resource.com/cgi-bin/freeguide.cgi.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Federal Emergency Management Agency: an independent agency of the United States government that provides a single point of accountability for all federal emergency preparedness and mitigation and response activities for the emergency evaluation and response to natural disasters caused by earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, snowstorms, hail, forest fires, drought and weather-related phenomenon. This agency administers the National Flood Insurance Program.

International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the goals of saving lives and protecting property during emergencies and disasters.

National Emergency Management Association (NEMA)
The National Emergency Management Association is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) association dedicated to enhancing public safety by improving the nations ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from all emergencies, disasters, and threats to our nations security. NEMA is the professional association of and for state* emergency management directors. NEMA’s mission is to 1) Provide national leadership and expertise in comprehensive emergency management, 2) Serve as a vital emergency management information and assistance resource, and 3) Advance continuous improvement in emergency management through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and collaborative policy positions.

National Incident Management System (NIMS) Homepage
Developed by DHS, NIMS integrates effective practices in emergency response into a comprehensive national framework for incident management.
