Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or sometimes USEPA) is an agency of the federal government of the United States charged with protecting human health and with safeguarding the natural environment: air, water, and land. The EPA began operation on December 2, 1970, when it was established by President Richard Nixon. It is led by its Administrator, who is appointed by the President of the United States. The EPA is not a Cabinet agency, but the Administrator is normally given cabinet rank. EPA leads the nation's environmental science, research, education and assessment efforts. National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a part of the US Department of Commerce, is responsible for monitoring and predicting the state of the oceans and the atmosphere. They also operate a series of polar-orbiting sun-synchronous weather satellites. NOAA is the parent organization of the National Weather Service.
National Park Service (NPS)
The National Park Service is a bureau within the United States Department of the Interior. The website contains massive links and information to the U.S. parks system.
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
The Natural Resources Conservation Service is the Federal agency that works in partnership with the American people to conserve and sustain natural resources - their soil, water, and others.
National Weather Service (NWS)
The National Weather Service (NWS) provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy. NWS data and products form a national information database and infrastructure which can be used by other governmental agencies, the private sector, the public, and the global community. NWI produces and provides information on the characteristics, extent, and status of the Nation's wetlands and deepwater habitats and other wildlife habitats.

U.S. Department of the Interior
The Department of the Interior (DOI) is the nation's principal conservation agency. Our mission is to protect America's treasures for future generations, provide access to our nation's natural and cultural heritage, offer recreation opportunities, honor our trust responsibilities to American Indians and Alaska Natives and our responsibilities to island communities, conduct scientific research, provide wise stewardship of energy and mineral resources, foster sound use of land and water resources, and conserve and protect fish and wildlife. Created by an act of Congress in 1879, the USGS has evolved over the ensuing 125 years, matching its talent and knowledge to the progress of science and technology. Today, the USGS stands as the sole science agency for the Department of the Interior. It is sought out by thousands of partners and customers for its natural science expertise and its vast earth and biological data holdings. The USGS is the science provider of choice in accessing the information and understanding to help resolve complex natural resource problems across the Nation and around the world. The USGS serves the Nation by providing reliable scientific information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss of life and property from natural disasters; manage water, biological, energy, and mineral resources; and enhance and protect our quality of life.
